Job Summary

Eastern Washington University and the College of Health Science and Public Health at Eastern Washington University invite applications for a 50% Dentist Lecturer position in the Department of Dental Hygiene to begin August 2020. This position would be a clinical lead dentist in charge of calibrating dentists. This position would work with our restorative lead instructor to help clinical dentists understand what students know and how to implement in clinic. Didactic courses may be assigned as needed.

This position can have didactic courses assigned as needed. This position will oversee a Teledentistry project in collaboration with Arcora Foundation. Clinical sessions will be assigned to the person hired. The dentist will communicate with patients on any concerns occurring in the clinic related to restorative treatment. This dentist will collaborate with the clinical lead dental hygienist for seamless transition from restorative lab to clinical restorative sessions.

The Department of Dental Hygiene is housed in a state-of-the-art facility located at Eastern's Spokane Campus in Spokane, WA. The department offers the only Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in the state of Washington, an entirely web-based Master of Science in Dental Hygiene, and has a fully online BSDH degree completion program.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Must be able to obtain a WA state dental license by time of hire.
  2. Must have current DEA number
  3. Must be able to pass WA state background check
  4. Maintain BLS certificate
  5. Visual acuity to be able to distinguish color differences
  6. Dexterity for preparation and removal of decay
  7. Two year's experience in clinical dentistry
  8. Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who offer one or more of the following:

  1. Supervised dental hygiene students in restorative
  2. Evidence of educational methodology courses attended
