As a member of the Coverage & Pricing team, the Coverage and Pricing Senior Manager, omecamtiv mecarbil (OM) Launch, reports to the Director of Retail Coverage & Pricing with a dotted line to the Director, OM Launch. In collaboration with the OM brand team, this role supports development of and executes payer strategy for the Market Access and sales teams to ensure efficient launch payer coverage and patient access to OM.

This role will utilize a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market and is a good avenue to many future commercial healthcare roles! Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.

Job Duties:
  • Support development and delivery of OM launch payer and contracting strategy (strategy developed with launch Director and brand team)
  • Support creation of the latest estimate discount rate model and process for OM
  • Creation and implementation of value-based contracts; will collaborate with Global Health Economics, Legal, and Strategic Pricing & Contracting teams
  • Lead planning and logistics for launch lead-sponsored workshops (e.g., value-based initiatives ideation, payer strategic plan)
  • Monitor Market Access launch coverage/POA goals and support dashboard activities
  • Point of contact for Market Access team and OM sales force, including communication of payer coverage to the sales force and "pull-through" implementation at launch
  • Collaborate with Patient Access team, Launch Lead and brand team to develop/launch patient support programs and manage adjustments in real-time as the payer environment evolves
  • Collaborate with value marketing function to build value strategy, messaging, tools for Market Access and data generation plan in alignment with brand strategy
  • Conduct periodic OM (V&A) launch team meetings (usually monthly) to communicate strategy and to drive alignment and implementation
  • Collaborate with Value Marketing to develop payer clinical messaging, pharmacoeconomic messaging and population health and employer-specific tools for Market Access, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Value Marketing and training to develop Market Access semester plan of action, semester meeting content/training and reimbursement goals
  • Collaborate with OM brand and sales teams to develop semester meeting content related to payer strategy and environment
  • Assist with planning and quarterly business reviews and long-range scenario planning
  • For sales teams and Market Access team, triage payer-related questions and issues and ensure that items are quickly addressed
  • For Market Access new hires, provides OM-related training as appropriate
  • Lead OM payer-related budget management
  • 5-10% travel may be required


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree & 2 years of Sales or Marketing Operations experience

OR

Master's degree & 4 years of Sales or Marketing Operations experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 6 years of Sales or Marketing Operations experience

OR

Associate's degree &10 years of Sales or Marketing Operations experience

OR

High school diploma/GED & 12 years of Sales or Marketing Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong eye for business, analytical skills, and critical thinking ability
  • Solid understanding of US health care system and key partners (with an interest in formulary decision makers carrying out responsibilities for the selection of medications for coverage or reimbursement)
  • Marketing or sales experience, specifically in immunology (asthma focus a plus)
  • Payer or value marketing experience, especially in highly competitive market environments
  • Payer account management experience
  • Access marketing experience
  • MBA or other master's degree
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Project management skills; handle and achieve results with multiple competing priorities
  • Cross-functional leadership skills; can work through others and manage in a matrix environment
  • Vendor/agency management skills
